Rest Day ( and a great deal of other things)!!!

Today’s Run:  Rest Day!

Today is a Rest Day.  Oh, how I needed today!  I have not necessarily “rested.”  It has been a busy, busy day but I have not gone running.  And that has been glorious!

If you read yesterday’s blog, you know that I ended up with some significant blisters.  Ouch.  People were wonderful with practical advice.  I did take care of the blisters and purchased some sock liners.  The socks I have are good socks.  Belaga’s.  I have never had any trouble with them before so I am still puzzled as the to origin of these blisters.  I am hopeful, however that the liners will help..

My leg is feeling better!  I went a while yesterday (all day actually) without the compression sleeve.  I wore it when I ran and then went without it for the remainder of the day.  I wore it during the night, though and am wearing it today as the leg is achy.

Tomorrow.  Ah, tomorrow is a 12.5 mile run with the running group.  MFH (My Favorite Husband) is game to do the entire distance so at early o’clock, we will hit the ground running~probably around 6:00 am.  It will still be dark so I will get to wear my Glimmer Gear stuff!  Fun!  I look like Tron when I wear it.  The cars definitely see me coming when I am wearing it and keep their distance.  (I personally think they cannot figure out what in the world that thing coming at the is, and avoid me like the plague!)

On a completely different topic.

I bottled my first batch of EAB (Evening Adult Beverage~aka: Beer) this morning.  It has to carbonate for 21 days, refrigerate 2 days and then I can drink some.  This is a long process!  It had to sit in the keg for 14 days before I could bottle it.   Sure hope it is tasty!

Another different topic.

I lost a hen today to an opossum.  I am not happy about this.  She was sitting on the nest laying an egg.  The opossum lifted the lid to the nesting boxes and helped himself to her (and I think to her egg).  The trap is set again.  Outdoors.  We had set the trap in the garage because we had a feral cat in the garage and we did not want the cat in the garage (or anywhere for that matter).  We caught the cat and, silly us, did not reset the trap outdoors.  I do not know why.  We just did not.  It is set for tonight.  That opossum is toast!

A myriad of things in today’s blog.  My goodness!  We discussed blisters, socks, running, Tron, beer, feral cats, opossums and my lovely chickens!  I think the only thing we did not discuss is the weather, which has warmed up, thank you!  Have a lovely, lovely weekend, all!
