Today’s Run: Rest Day
Tomorrow is the big day!
Tomorrow they are supposed to deliver my Quad Compression Sleeve! That means I should be able to run again! YAY!!!
This quad injury is driving me nuts. I am not used to sitting around more than moving around. MFH (My Favorite Husband) is making sure that I park my patoot as much as possible so my leg will be better ASAP. I have missed two scheduled running days so far. That may not sound like a lot but they were a 26.2 mile run and a 10 mile run. That is significant.
Tomorrow, though, the UPS man should pull into my driveway and deliver my compression sleeve and theoretically, I will be back in business. There are miles to catch up and not a lot of time in which to do it.
This present week is supposed to have been an “easy” week, so I’ll just swap weeks on my training program. I know that I cannot make up all the missed miles but I can kinda step in where I left off and keep on running.
Advil is still my friend but not as good a friend as it used to be. The foam roller is my new best friend now. That is a good trade, I think. R.I.C.E. Hot baths, roller, Advil, R.I.C.E, Hot baths, roller…you get the idea. Come tomorrow, I will have that compression sleeve to add to the mix! YAY!!
Sounds promising, I would say! 🙂 Now all I have to do is get the weather to cooperate!
(As Winnie the Pooh would say, “Oh, Bother.”)
So, sorry for thinking out loud here. Sometimes it just helps to put the figurative pen to paper and think things through.
Hopefully, Tuesday, I will have a run to report! Would not that be awesome!?! Fingers crossed!!!
