Today’s Run: 60 min lifting at the “Y”
I am the owner of a “Puppy” and I am very proud of him.
Paxton, like all other dogs has to make annual visits to the local Vet. Before each visit, we “drain” him, put him outdoors to “do his duty” or “visit the grass” as it were. When we arrive at the Vet’s office, we walk him again, just to make sure the bladder is empty and on the whole, Paxton is a good sport about the entire process. But we never take into account one important fact: Paxton is afraid of needles.
Each time we go to the Vet, we end up with “Lake Paxton” on the floor. He is as good as gold ~ until they come at him with that needle, then he lets loose. Poor Puppy. The last visit, they came at him with the needle, stopped, mopped the floor, tried again with the needle, stopped, mopped the floor, tried again and thought about stopping to mop and gave it up for a lost cause and just kept on going and gave him his shot.
Which brings us to today. We went through all the pre-Vet procedures with the visits outdoors here at home and at the Vet’s office. Then we went through the door. The Vet came at him with the needle but this time there was a difference. She gave him a treat and then gave him his shot! No “Lake Paxton!”. No mop! Success!!!
