Today’s Run: Rest Day
Today we drove and drove and drove. We drove through 5 states!
On our journeys today, we passed through, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. We began driving at 8:30 am and just now finished at 8:00 pm. We are very tired but pleased with our journeys.
We went to Providence, Rhode Island~just because we had never been to Rhode Island before. Next we drove to Harvard~hoping that some of the smarts of the people there would rub off on us. We then went to MIT in the more desperate hope if we did not gain any intelligence at Harvard, then maybe we might gain some at MIT. By then it was time to quit playing around and go to Logan Airport in Boston.
We picked up our daughter at Logan Airport. It was great to see her and she is looking positively super! We promptly bundled her into the car and passed through New Hampshire (just a little bit of N.H.) on our way to our final destination: Bethel, Maine.
We have quickly discovered that although there may not be many miles to be covered to reach point A to point B, the roads are all curvy and it takes a bit longer to get to where you need to go. That is why we were so late getting in today.
Tomorrow, we head off for Bar Harbor, Maine and the race! How exciting this that!?! We will do our packet pick-up and drive the race course and then collapse in the hotel room. Sounds like a nice day.
Sunday, 8:00 am, we toe the line and run and run and run. I can hardly wait!!!
