Today’s Run: Rest Day
I sang this song a hundred, maybe a thousand years ago
No one ever listens, I just play and then I go
Off into the sunset like the western heroes do
Tell me what you’re gonna do..
I don’t know why but this song always goes through my head during a very, very long run. I just run and then I go off into the sunset like the western heroes do… A slight change of words and voila’ instant long distance runner song.
Now that my husband and I have logged almost 1,000 miles this year (952.29 miles), the thousand years in the song is turning into 1,000 miles in my head.
Here is the Melinda Howard, new and improved, Miracles out of Nowhere…
I ran this road a hundred, maybe a thousand times before No one ever watches, I just run and then I go off into the sunset like the western heroes do…
Love the group Kansas. They are very talented musicians. vocals, violin, viola, cello, keyboards, synthesizers, percussion and guitars. Not may groups can claim to have that much talent in just a few people. It show in their music. Good stuff!
So, tomorrow while I am out running my eight miles, answer the question that this song asks, What are You going to do? Are you going to eat smart/healthy? Are you going to exercise? Help a neighbor? Visit a shut-in? What are you going to do?
