Today’s Run: Rest Day
I began my marathon training yesterday. I was terrified! Still am, actually. Today and all Tuesdays are going to be the most difficult day of the week. Rest Day.
I am so used to doing SOMETHING! But everything I have read stresses the importance of resting on your rest days and that is something that goes against everything I know. I do not like to be a “lazy daisy”! I must be moving and using my time to accomplish things.
Today, I slept in until 5:00 and then made breakfast. These days we are eating breakfast pretty early so we can get out on our morning run ASAP. Yesterday I waited too long and it was already in the 80’s F. for my early morning run! Too hot! Feeling the need to make myself useful, I walked the dog. The dog was happy!
By 8:00 this morning I was a Lowe’s buying chicken wire. By 9:00 I had built an enclosure around my chicken tractor so the hens would have a little bit of wiggle room outside the tractor but would not be able to go into the weedy field or the woods.
I cleaned house. I did three loads of laundry. Visited the chickens a zillion times. Picked up my sons car from the shop…this rest day is for the birds. I would be better off just going for a run and getting this restlessness out of my system.
So, tomorrow is a scheduled run day. YAY!!! I will be good and tired and feel like I did something productive. I can hardly wait!
