Today’s Run: Walked the dog
We have a medical clinic in our Wal-Mart. It is run by one of the local hospitals and is very nice. Our son uses it regularly and by chance, I utilized it yesterday and my husband today.
Seeing as it is a holiday weekend and all the Doctor offices are closed, we got sick. Figures. I actually started getting sick last Tuesday but ignored it and kept up my regular routine (which is pretty busy) in the hopes that if I ignored it, it would go away. Nope.
This past Saturday we were supposed to run 11 miles with the running group and at the first water stop, we turned around bringing our daily mile total to 5.50 miles for our long run. Not a very long run at all! But we were feeling pretty awful and thought that the 5+ miles was taking it easy.
Sunday, I woke up and my throat and ears were making me uncomfortable. I had a temp. and felt unwell. So, after making numerous phone calls, found that the only place open was the Wal-Mart clinic. So, off I toddled.
They were nice. The place was clean. They were professional. And they gave me antibiotics after telling me that I had strep and an ear infection. Ah, that would explain the discomfort. After filling the prescription, I went home to lick my wounds.
This morning, my husband was in the same boat and I encouraged (read: made) him to go to the clinic. He, too, is on antibiotics. No infection but he is feeling a bit rough.
So, here we sit at home on a holiday weekend. A lively bunch we are!
