Today’s Run: two hours mowing

We took a trip down memory lane yesterday evening and then again today.  We sat down and watched Fellowship of the Ring.  It has been at least five years since I have watched that movie and yet I still found myself speaking the lines right along with the actors.  We sat through two or so hours of this movie just so I could hear my two most favorite lines:  “You shall not pass!” and “A promise is a promise, Mr. Frodo.”.

I remember the first time I saw this movie was with my son.  We went to the theatre and my son got scared by the nozgul  and we had to leave early.  It was not until it came out on DVD that he was able to watch it all the way through and not be afraid.  They were creepy.  Once the trilogy came out on DVD, our entire family had all of the film dialog memorized.

Years ago, I promised myself that I would sit down and watch all three films back to back.  I lied.  If any of you have done that, I would love to hear about it.  I do not think there is enough popcorn or no-doze for me to be able to accomplish that feat these days.

We did take the time to look up the date the movie was released.  2001.  Wow!  It just seems like yesterday and here we are eleven years later and playing the “remember when” game.  I could go on and on, so I will just stop.
