Air Conditioning

Today’s Run:  55 min. lifting at the “Y”

Air conditioning is a wonderful thing!  Living in Mississippi it is a necessity.

We have lived in Mississippi for 2 1/2 years and it has been a huge change from the climate we were accustomed to in Colorado.  Living in the mountains it was cool and dry in the Summer.  Now, it is 105 degrees for six week out of the year and very humid.  That does not mean it is bad~ it is just a change from what we were used to.

Enter air conditioning.  This week our temps. are running in the high 80’s and low 90’s.  Not too bad for what we know will be coming in a month or so but still warm.  And our “air” bit the dust on Sunday evening.  Bummer.  Monday morning, my husband called the air conditioning guy and asked for a service call, only to be told it would be a week.  Oh no!

So, we pulled out our two floor fans and turned up the ceiling fans and so far we are surviving.  Actually, we are doing just fine.  Both of us grew up in Iowa without any air conditioning, so we are used to a little discomfort.  The animals are laying low and Paxton has discovered the joy of laying in front of the floor fan to keep cool.

When next week rolls around, we will roll out the red carpet to welcome the air conditioner repair person.  He will be our new best friend.
