Today’s Run: 50 min lifting at the “Y”
I began collecting my freckles for the Summer season today…I cut the grass and got some sun. I am blooming into a nice shade of red right now. Tomorrow, it will probably be gone but right now I AM RED.
While I was cutting the grass, I noticed something wonderful! We have flowers in bloom! Some of them are old faithfuls but one especially is a new and unexpected surprise.
Late last Fall we planed four Chocolate Vines. We put them at the four posts on the south side of our new arbor/pergola. It was our intention for them to vine up those posts and create a nice, cool, viney roof for the arbor. They had really taken off this Spring and last night, I noticed that they are in bloom. We really did not expect them to do much this soon, but who are we to complain.
I know it is a little fuzzy but the flowers are small and are close to the ground. This gives you a general idea of what the flowers on the vine look like.
Then today, while mowing, I felt incredibly guilty. I kept mowing over these cute little purple flowers. I thought about how much the bees would enjoy them…not enough to stop mowing but enough to stop and take a pic of one.
The camera on my cell phone was not meant to do close ups, I guess.
As I was mowing around the Oak trees we planted 2 1/2 years ago, I noticed that the Creeping Phlox we planted last Summer and were positive had died in the heat??? is in bloom! And is it ever pretty!!!
The only other flowers I noticed today were the few remaining blossoms on the wild plum trees. They were looking a bit bedraggled but were trying their hardest!
