Today’s Run:  2.30 miles

First for the good news:  My knee is improving.

Now for the bad:  Our neighbor’s house burned down today.

It was rather dramatic.  Six explosions.  The firemen were late.  The news station was “johnny on the spot”.  The ambulance was early as were the law enforcement.

Our firefighters are good guys.  They are a volunteer group and they stick around until the job is done.  Our firefighters are still here working the smoldering remains of the house.  They are S-L-O-W but tenacious!

So, as you can see…no house.  There is a lot of smoke but no house.  Just our direct neighbor.  There is a little shed off the the left by the telephone pole.  Right next to it is where the house was.

We do not know if there was anyone home and may never know…hope not.

Update:

We did meet the neighbor and no-one was home at the time of the fire.  He has some people with whom he can stay but we left the offer open to him to stay here should the need arise.  He says he is going to rebuild.  Wish him the best!
