Today’s Run: 1 mile walk
Cataracts. I had them for five years until I could have them removed. I had surgery this past August for removal and it is a wonderful thing! After a while, your glasses cannot correct for the cataract and you are unable to see worth a hill of beans. It is a bad situation. You cannot drive (at least my Dr. would not allow me to drive) and I saw double for the last year I had them leading up to the surgery.
But not anymore!!!

Double that second photo and that is how I was seeing last August. Boo. Now I do not wear glasses (except for granny glasses for reading) and I am a happy camper!
Why am I telling you this when we have covered it in the past? Well, today my Dad finally broke down and had one of his cataracts removed. He probably is not tip-top right now, drugs wearing off and all that, but tomorrow he should be a very happy camper, too!
This is a surgery from 2011. I know that they have made improvements since then. I had toric lenses implanted for my astigmatisms. That particular type of lens is supposed to help correct the astigmatism as well as correct the distance vision. Thank goodness for modern medicine, huh?
