Castro The Cat AKA: Houdini

Once upon a time, #1 Daughter got a kitten.  This is a cute little caramel and black colored little kitten.  #1 Daughter named this kitten, Kali.

Kali grew up to be a pretty kitty.  She wasn’t a very big kitty, she was a delicate little girl.

One day, Kali surprised #1 Daughter with two little kittens of her very own.  #1 Daughter was proud of Kali.  One of the kittens was orange, the other one was white.  #1 Daughter named the white kitten, Castro.  She named the kitten Castro because he was a naughty kitten and tried to make Kali and the other kitten do whatever he (Castro) wanted them to do.

Naughty, naughty Castro.

#1 Son was living alone in his very own apartment.  #1 Daughter decided that #1 Son need company.  She gave him Castro.

Castro and #1 Son soon grew to love each other.  Castro was still a naughty kitty.  He clawed the furniture and climbed the drapes.  #1 Son thought it was cute and didn’t make Castro mind.

#1 Son decided to move south to live with his parents and go to college.  He brought Castro along.  The parents were thrilled that #1 Son was moving closer~not so thrilled about Castro.  Kali, #1 Daughter’s kitty (remember her?  Castro’s mama?) had come to live with the parents the year before.  This would make two kitties at their house.

#1 Son stayed at his parents house a few months until he got his own apartment again.  His apartment was very close to where he was going to college.  He took Castro with him to live in the apartment.

Things settled down again in the parents house.

Ring!  Ring!  Ring!!!

The parents phone rang.

“Castro is gone!  I cannot find him anywhere!”  #1 Son was very upset.

#1 Son put up fliers all around his apartment complex.  He called vets offices.  He checked the pound.  He tried everything he could think of to find his kitty, Castro.

After a month.  He gave up.  He was sure that Castro had been hit by a car or something and would never return.

#1 Son was lonely.  He decided he needed a Bunny to replace Castro.  A bunny doesn’t run away.  He was confident in his decision.  #1 Son got Loki.

Loki and #1 Son got along very well.  Loki was litter box trained (when he wanted to be).  Loki did like to nibble on the wood work and the carpet, and the furniture and….Loki was a cute and fuzzy termite.

#1 Son was visiting his parents one day, about 6 months after Castro had disappeared when…

Ring!  Ring!  Ring!

The parents phone rang.

“Do you have a white cat named Castro?” asked the person on the other end of the phone.

The parents explained how Castro had disappeared.

“We have caught your cat, Castro.  He has been living above the ceiling tiles in one of the cafeterias at the college.  Come get him by 4:00 pm today or we are going to send him to the pound to be put down.”

It was 3:15 pm!  Yikes!

#1 Son and the Father grabbed a kitty carrier and flew out the door and hopped into the car.

ZOOM!  They sped down the street!

#1 Son and the Father got to the school cafeteria in time to get Castro.  That naughty kitty was F.A.T.  He had been nibbling on school food at night when nobody was looking.  He was not happy to have been caught.

#1 Son and the Father stuffed Castro into the kitty carrier and drove back to the parents house.  What were they going to do about Castro?  Castro and a Bunny were not a good combination living together in a small apartment.

It was decided that Castro would live with the parents once again.

Paxton, the dog, was happy to see Castro!  Paxton and Castro had been best buddies during the short time that Castro had lived with the parents earlier.  Castro was actually happy to see Paxton, too!

So, Castro, Kali and Paxton now live happily together at the parents house.  Kali and Castro like to spend time outdoors hunting and basking in the sunshine.  Paxton likes to pretend he is a rug in the parents living room.

…and so far, they are living happily ever after.
