Today’s Run: 45 Min lifting at the “Y” and 4.22 miles
Old MacDonald did have a farm and the Howard’s seem to be drifting in that general direction. Fortunately, we do not have enough land (a little shy of two acres) to allow us many animals. Presently, we have one dog (Paxton), two cats (Kali and Castro), about 180,000 honey bees (we did not name the honey bees) and five chickens (Ed Stakrstpie, Cluck Norris, Hen Solo, Chewbucca, and Audrey Henburn). I think that is enough for the two of us.
The hens are doing wonderful things. They are laying four eggs per day on the average. That means I still have one chicken who has not started laying yet. So, let us see…four eggs, multiplied by seven days in the week, equals…twenty-eight eggs per week! That is a little over two dozen eggs a week. Not too shabby for four hens!
We have, so far, kept up with the supply of eggs.
When the hens began laying, they were laying the pullet eggs. We talked about those in a previous post. Yesterday, someone laid a jumbo sized egg. This thing is monstrous!
