Transmitter shack progress

[Wednesday: 3.5 miles]

I ran Wednesday evening, donated blood Thursday evening and picked up my new suit this evening (Friday).  That pretty much catches you up to what I’m doing.

The transmitter shack is looking pretty good.  It has been so hot that I have not made much progress this week.  Last weekend I got the door on and used some of the silver flashing/tape stuff around the door and window.  Early this morning I got the trim around the door.  I’m hoping to get the siding on this weekend and that will get me to a good position until the weather starts to get better.

My door and window came from the local Habitat For Humanity store.  The window is the lower from a double-hung set of nice Pella windows.  The glass is double pane.  I built a frame for it.

The door is solid wood, paneled, and not actually very square.  But I built the opening around the door and I think it is going to work OK for a shed. In this picture I’ve taken the door off of the hinges.  The knob and lockset were the ancient square-box/skeleton-key type.  I removed that and filled the holes with glue and scraps and sawdust.  I put my new lockset on the other side and the hinges on the old knob side. I went with an old door because I didn’t want the full height of the kind they sell at Lowes.

After the siding, trim around the window, then soffit, caulk and paint, the outside will be pretty much done.
