[running as usual… Last saturday was 4.3 miles]
Um, what has happened since the last time?
Around Thanksgiving #1 Son and I went hunting. That was fun. We went to a new place. We did not see any deer, or any other critters for that matter. But it was a nice quiet afternoon in the woods.
I think we are going to try to go again, maybe in January?
Christmas is on Thursday. I will get off of work a bit early on Christmas Eve. Then I have until the next Monday off. I have tickets to take a quick trip to Des Moines to check out the new place where Mom is moving to. She moves tomorrow. I talked to her a bit today and I think she is actually looking forward to it.
Thanksgiving #1 Son came to our house and brought lots of good food. I think we are doing a replay of that on Christmas. That will be fun.
A couple of weeks ago I took a day off and we went to Meridian for the graduation of Anita with her doctoral degree. The ceremony was in the Riley Center which is part of the Mississippi State U. Meridian Campus. It is an old opera house in a downdown building. Very impressive.
We then got to show Anita, Jeff and Milton around our new house. Anita and Jeff had been here before but it was a first for Milton. I think we all enjoyed the day, I sure did.
After the quick trip to Iowa I come back and work a few days and then we zoom off again for a few days in Colorado. I have a grandson I haven’t seen for over a year! And a granddaughter I haven’t seen in probably 9 months (?) I hope they aren’t taller than me quite yet.
I’ve heard they are suffering with the flu right now but are on the mend.
Work is going OK. I am slowly working things out. We are getting most of our new hardware in hand and trying to integrate things together. It is not going as smoothly as one would like, but I think we are still within tolerance.
Today they had the company Christmas Party and I went to that. Also today someone brought donuts and another person brought a red velvet cake.
Our ducks are still laying eggs as fast as they were in the summer. We were thinking they would slow down when the cold weather came but it doesn’t seem to be happening. We get 6-7 eggs a day. So that means in a week we have 3-1/2 to 4 dozen eggs. We don’t use anything like that many. So I’ve been trying to give them away. I need to take a couple of dozen to work tomorrow.
I think that’s about all I have for today. Still sitting in a room full of moving boxes, which I hope to shift a bit sometime soon. Most of the house is fairly well sorted though.
The house we moved from is still for sale. It doesn’t seem to be moving very much. So we may have to change strategy toward the end of January if we don’t get some traction.
