Mississippi running

Cold day

[Monday: 5 miles; Wednesday 3.5; today: 3.5]

We had a cold front come through yesterday.  The temperature dropped all day Friday and reached into the teens on Saturday morning.

Just shortly after it hit bottom I went out for my Saturday morning run.  It was 18 degrees.  I had a great run and enjoyed the buildup of frost on my eyelashes and mustache.  Just like the good old days running in Iowa and Colorado.

Eighteen is pretty low for Mississippi but it is not unusual to reach that low a couple of times each winter.  I’ve only had my weather station going since the summer of 2013;  I have a pretty complete record for 2014-2016.  We’ve had teens or lower every year.

I wore my fuzzy hat, gloves, three shirts  (1 long sleeve, one short sleeve, and one tank, all “tech” material), and my regular compression shorts and baggy shorts.  The fuzzy hat was getting pretty sweaty by the time I finished.
