New picture

[Yesterday: 3.5 miles]

We have a lot of pictures on the walls in our house.  The majority are of people, but we also have quite a few of my wife’s paintings and some other paintings and prints.

This week we acquired another.  It appeared on a local buy/trade Facebook group.  I decided I liked it and the price was low so we went on Monday and got it.  It was a nice drive too.

I did a bit of research on it and, although the frame is obscuring any indication of the publisher or the artist, I think I may have figured it out.

It is about  20″ by 27″, something like that.

This print does have some lettering in the lower center.  It says “Green to Gold.”

The frame is a plain wooden frame with plaster flower-things in the corners which have suffered some damage.

Like I said, I did some googling and I think I may know the artist.

This other picture is very similar, is also titled “Green to Gold” and is by an early 20th century landscape painter named Louis Seybold.  The composition is almost the mirror image opposite, even down to the woman with the basket of flowers.

Anyway, I don’t think the thing is worth any substantial money or anything.  But I liked it and it was cheap and it puts a bit of color on the walls.
