I added that reset switch to the GPSDO on September 6th. It was unplugged for maybe an hour or two and the oscillator had a chance to cool down during that time.
It had been running “unlocked” until earlier today, not quite a month later. But now the algorithm has caught up with the change in voltage necessary for it to achieve lock with the GPS.
It is possible to change the algorithm settings to allow quicker lock. But then it is better once locked to have a longer integration time. I have it set to about 1 hour; it will only adjust once per period. With a shorter period it would achieve lock quicker but the long term results would not be as good.
And the new switch did work as expected once lock had been achieved!
