[Today’s run: 7+ miles, rain and lightning]
I don’t have much to say about the news and commentary going on yesterday and today about the guy in Denver who shot up a bunch of people at a packed movie theater.
One thing I would like to add:
His actions were evil. It was wicked and wrong and terrible and shameful.
I don’t know why we seem to have a desire to not call it evil. Bin Laden plotted the 9/11 attack and that was evil and we are OK calling it evil. This guy plotted a mass murder shooting and it was evil.
Maybe he is deranged or insane or whatever, that doesn’t really matter in judging the outcome of his actions: wicked, evil, wrong, shameful, depraved, inhumane, terrible.
It is smaller than 9/11, but only because he didn’t have the leverage to make that large of a outcome. It is just as evil, wicked, shameful, terrible, and wrong.
