Today’s Run:  7.20 miles

Last Saturday was the Brown Drawing.  This is a family tradition on my husband’s side off the family at Christmas time.  Everyone on the Brown side of the family draws a name (via internet) and purchases a gift with a price limit of $25.00.  We then gather on the designated Saturday evening for the gift exchange.  People come from all over the place for this, but primarily from Iowa.

We had thought about attending this year but logistically, it did not work, so we dropped of the Brown Drawing gifts on our way through Iowa, instead.

While we were in Iowa, I found out that Aunt Joyce had drawn my name and she wanted to see me open my gift.  No argument from me!  So, she and Uncle Denny popped on over and I opened my gift.  It was a gift card to roadrunnersports!  Exactly what I had asked for!  Cool Beans!

We came back to Mississippi and the very next day, I called roadrunnersports and placed my wish list order.  Arm warmers and a new headband/ear warmer.  I was so excited.  These were two items I had been wanting for a very long time but was just too cheap to purchase for myself.

They came last Saturday.

It was finally cool enough this morning to wear them.  Yea!!!  So, my husband dutifully took a pic, while we were running so I could email it to Aunt Joyce so she could see what I purchased with the gift card.  And now, you too, can see what I got for Christmas!!!  

The arm warmers you roll down your arm as you warm up during your run.  By the time this mornings 7 miles were done, they looked like sweat bands around my wrists.  The headband keeps your ears warm and also acts as a sweat band so you do not have sweat running in your eyes as you run.  Pretty cool stuff, huh?
