Today’s Run:  Rest Day

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and it truly was a day of giving thanks.  We had my parents and son over for dinner and we were able to talk to my daughter a couple of times on the phone.  We had a great time.  But today…today is 32 shopping days until Christmas!!!  Today is BLACK FRIDAY.  Did you take advantage of the shopping bargains?  I did not.

Instead, I got a haircut and then put up the Christmas tree!  The house always looks so pretty with the sparkly decorations on the tree and the stockings (hung by the chimney with care) over the fire place.  I love Christmas. It brings out the kid in me, I guess.

Shopping this year is going to be fun.  We have to have the majority of our shopping done by next Wednesday.  We will be delivering some of our gifts by hand this year (instead of shipping them) and will be able to see some of our relatives.  Things like that make the season a bit more special.

So, why did not I take advantage of the BLACK FRIDAY shopping extravaganza!?!  The people.  There was actually one person in Starkville who got a tooth knocked out while fighting through the crowds to get a video game (I think it was a video game)!  That is just silly.  People can be vultures.  Personally, I would rather pay a bit more than be trampled by other shoppers.

But enough of my Scrooginess.  Wishing all of you a super holiday season and to coin a politically uncorrect phrase:  Merry Christmas!!!
