Today’s run: 55 min. lifting at “Y”
I’m sure you remember the song “London Bridge is Falling Down”, well, today, driving into town the song turned into “Columbus’ Bridge is Falling Down”!
My son and I were driving into town on Hwy 82 going East when all of a sudden three car lengths ahead there was a huge cloud of dust/smoke. We stopped abruptly as did everyone else because the bridge that was there had just collapsed! Now that is not something you witness everyday! We called Chris, who called 911 and it took about 15 minutes before emergency people arrived. Once they arrived, we were able to drive around the debris and continue on into town. We were pretty shook up.
On our return trip, we came to a complete stop about 1 1/2 miles from the bridge and crept along to our exit. I took a few pics of the bridge and the traffic jam. The internet said the traffic jam is supposed to last three hours. Boy, am I glad that we were able to get through that a bit faster than three hours and I am really glad that we had stopped to put gas in the car before we got on the highway (and I am especially glad that I did not need to use the little girls room!).
Home now, safe and sound!
