Today’s Run: 3 miles
We go grocery shopping every two weeks (every payday) and it ain’t cheap. It is always a toss up as to whether to go to Wal Mart or Kroger to do the shopping. So, it depends on what I need to purchase as to where we go to shop.
We got paid this past Friday and the cupboard was very bare. Old Mother Hubbard’s dog had no bones! We HAD to go to the store. My husband and I talked this morning and decided that since he had (kinda had) half the day off today we would go after his work was complete and after our morning run (which turned into an afternoon run). So, I waited…
While he was working, I cleaned house. Did the floors, dusted, scrubbed the two bathrooms, did three loads of laundry and cleaned the kitchen. Then I fixed lunch. I had a busy morning. So did my husband. His project was not as smooth of sailing as he had hoped and it took him all the way to “noon o’clock” to get it all put back together. Whew!
So, after our run, we got cleaned up and I got ready to go to the store. Except…
Our neighbor has been putting up a picket fence in front of his Mama’s house (looks nice!) and my husband has been promising to help. Today the neighbor decided to finish the fence and my husband felt it was his neighborly duty to go help finish the fence. That meant putting off going to the store until after dark or going it alone.
I went alone.
I do NOT like doing the shopping by myself. I do have a list and I stick to it. But today was a Kroger day and they just finished re-arranging the store and made all the isles more narrow and you cannot find anything because of the new order of the store. Plus, with the super narrow isles, you can barely let two buggies pass without bumping into each other. It was not a fun time. But, is it done. (After my container of blueberries broke open in the checkout line and spewed the blueberries all over the floor. boo.).
The groceries are home. So is my husband and so am I. All’s well that end’s well.
