Bob’s Country Bunker

Today’s Run:  5.30 miles

Tonight we went to “Bob’s Country Bunker” for dinner (aka:  Bob Roberts BBQ). We like to call Bob Roberts BBQ this name affectionately even thought it has no chicken wire.  It does sometimes have live music but usually just one guy with an acoustic guitar singing some original tunes.  It is a nice place.  The people there are super friendly.  They remember your order and your name.

If you remember your 1980’s classic movies, The Blues Brothers was THE movie to see.  Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi are playing brothers who generally run on the wrong side of the law even though their hearts are in the right place.  “Boy’s, you gots to learn not to talk to nuns like that.”  The film is hilarious!  The language is atrocious!  It is an awesome movie and one of the best sets of the movie is Bob’s Country Bunker. This place is great!  The owner, Bob, is generous in handing out the brew (neglects to tell the band that there is a running tab~around $400.00 or so) but only likes two kinds of music:  Country and Western.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdR6MN2jKYs  So, there is a lot of improvising musically and makes for a great deal of fun. The stage for the band is protected by chicken wire~and for good reason!  If the patrons do not like your music, they simply chuck (throw) their bottles at the band.  The chicken wire is for protection!  Funny, funny, funny!!!

Anyway, I digress.  We went to Bob’s Country Bunker for dinner tonight.  The food was wonderful and there was a lot of it!  A great evening!
