Many of you have heard me talk about my cute as can be running buddy Aiden. We were matched through the IRun4 Group. It was a 6 months waiting process from the time I signed up until the time I was matched. It was well worth the wait.
Aiden has his fair share of obstacles. He is a fighter! He doesn’t let medical issues slow him down. Nope! In his 3.5 yrs of life, he has faced and overcome more difficulties than most of us will ever encounter in our entire lives.
Today was surgery day for Aiden. His mom packed all of his stuff and off they drove to the hospital.
Today was a muti-tasking day at the hospital. The Doctors planned on four procedures. He was healthy enough for them to be able to attempt all of them, so away they went.
He sailed through them like a trooper! Until…they went to move him into recovery. That’s when things kinda hit the proverbial fan…
“Well they are sending Aiden to the picu. The reason it took so long for us to see him is because he became tachycardic. His heart rate was was to 225. He is very uncomfortable. They have given him fentanyl, morphine and Tylenol. He was resting but when they went to transport he became agitated again. This surgery was rough on him. It is going to take a little more time for recovery from this one.” *PICU is Pediatric Intensive Care Unit*
A week ago, I had mailed him his stuffed “Crawfish.” I told you about. Aiden took his Crawfish with him to the hospital today. His mom posted to me with a pic of Aiden all ready for surgery with that Crawfish on his tummy.
Bless his little heart. What a sweetie pie!
Prayers for Aiden this evening and in the days to come. Prayers for his family as well. This is tough on everybody!
