A week ago or so, I told you about how I was beginning a training program designed specifically for me. I was a tad apprehensive about this. I was a HH (Hal Hidgon) gal through and through and had never had this kind of a one on one with my training.
All in all, it has been okay.
I can pull up a calendar and see everything pending for the week/month and I get an email each day reminding me what it is I am supposed to be doing.
That’s nice!
Yesterday, I was supposed to run a 6 mile tempo run. I had just run one of those the day before (Saturday) and he wanted me to do it again. Not a problem. Kinda.
Last week, I ended up running a total of 52 miles. For me, that is a lot.
Sunday morning’s are a little busy at our house what with breakfast and trying to fit a run in before church. I hurried around and left the house for my run.
I ran .50 miles and called it a day.
Some days, it’s just not worth it. Yesterday was that day.
Now, we are leaving for Colorado the end of this week. That means 2 days of sitting in the car. That means, two days of missed training runs.
That is not good.
I looked at my training schedule for the week.
This week is a fall back week. Light mileage. My mileage total for the week is only 40 miles! Sweet! So, I looked at MFH’s (My Favorite Husband) and my schedule before we left for our trip and decided that my coach and I were going to have to compromise on how I was going to get these 40 miles run.
He is not going to be very happy with me but here it is:
Today, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday…each one of these days I am going to run 10 miles. Last time I checked (and you all know that math is not my strongest subject) 4 X 10 = 40.
40 miles in four days instead of seven.
I don’t see the problem. Do you?
