MFH (My Favorite Husband) is sooooooo funny!!!
We (MFH, #1 son and myself) drove to Caledonia, Mississippi, this afternoon for an ice cream stop. (It was delicious, btw). It was a lovely day for a drive and we had a very nice time. The ice cream shop has changed their hot fudge…not as good as it used to be.
On our return trip, we were all chatting away about various things. Just being silly and enjoying each others company.
We turned onto our road and passed the new house that they just finished building. The neighbors moved into it a couple of weeks ago.
It is a beautiful brick house. Big! They just planted a few trees and laid sod out front. Really looks nice…except for the shutters. Those shutters are a fail. They put the shutters up last. They are a very dark brown and a rustic looking, roughish wood, kinda ugly dark brown. I do not like them. They do not match the style of the house at all.
As we passed, I said out loud, “Those shutters are a fail.”
Everybody in the car agreed with me. They really were an unfortunate choice.
As we went around the curve, MFH said that the next house had those “Decorative shutters. They don’t do anything. They are awful!”
Well, the house we were discussing is also a dark brick with white shutters. It looks very, very nice and I said so.
“Nope.” Declared MFH. Decorative shutters are awful!
I replied, “Sweetie, WE have decorative shutters on OUR house.”
“No, we don’t!” He said.
“I replied that, “Yes, we do!”
He was adamant that we did not have any shutters at all on our house.
We finished coming around the bend and could see the house. Sure enough, there were dark green shutters framing the windows on the front of the house.
“Augh! We DO have shutters on our house! That is awful!” exclaimed MFH.
#1 son and I laughed until we cried. That was probably one of the funniest things ever!!!
“At least the house was cheap.” was all MFH could say in return.
HA!
