24- zip

MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I will have lived in Mississippi for 5 years this coming October.  When we had the move, I was a size 22-24.  My favorite store was Lane Bryant.  They have cute clothes!

I primarily wore tent dresses and long denim skirts with turtle necks or baggy shirts.  I remember the day that I had just received my brand new size 24 denim skirt in the mail only to discover it was too tight.  It had an elastic waist.

About 10 years before that, I had been a much smaller size.  0’s a few 2’s but mostly 0’s.  Life happened.  I got sick….the weight flew on~FAST!  The next thing I knew, I was holding up this size 24 skirt that was too small.  Bad.

Again, things happen, my health began to improve.   I started to lose the weight, just a little bit at a time.

Here it is, almost 5 years later and I pulled my summer shorts and tanks out of the closet, preparing for the toasty weather to come, only to discover that my old standby’s were too big!  Awesome!

The only place to shop (for the most part) in my town is WalMart.  The smallest thing they carry is a 4.  I had a few pair of their shorts but they never really fit well.  Baggy.

Today, #1 son and I went to Tupelo, Mississippi for a shopping trip.  Our goal was a Father’s Day present for MFH.  We purchased what we went for (yay us~we haven’t given it to him yet, so I can’t tell you what it is) and then, I HAD to stop at my all time favorite store, The Loft.  Love that place!  They had sent me an email this morning that all their summer shorts were 50% off…had to see for myself.

I walked in and was accosted by a sales lady.  I am used to that.  They do that there.  Anyway, she helped my find some shorts.  She started me on a size 4.  I tried them on.  Too big.  Size 2.  Too big.  The size 0’s fit perfect!  It was like Cinderella and her glass slipper!

What a wonderful feeling!  I do not weight nearly the itty bitty bit that I weighed last time I wore this size and you know what?  That doesn’t matter!  Really, the size doesn’t matter either, I am the same person I was at size 24 as I am at a 0.  But, it really did make my day!!!

24-0 in 4 1/2 years.  Cool Beans!!!
