Today has been a huge NSV! Let me tell you a story and see if you agree.
4 1/2 years ago, MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I moved to Mississippi. We were relocating from Colorado where we had lived since 1996. Our children were born in Chicago and except for a brief stint in Iowa, do not remember anything except living in Colorado. Colorado was home for them.
The kids completed their High School years and entered college. We bid them a fond farewell and left them in Colorado for Mississippi. It was self preservation for us more than anything else. Colorado was a harsh place.
When we arrived in Mississippi, I was very ill. MFH tells me now that he did not expect me to be alive in five more years. I was very heavy. I was on 13 different medications. It was not a happy time.
Mississippi was kind to us. I found new Doctors. One in particular gave me a new lease on life. I owe a great deal to this man.
I have a chronic condition. It is something that I will have with me all my life. That is okay. I have accepted that and have learned to live with it. All is well…most of the time. HA! 🙂
Today, I had a follow up with that particular Doctor. He has gradually taken me from the 13 medications I was taking when we first moved here down to two. Pretty awesome, right!?!
Well, today, he took away one more!!! How awesome is that!?! The last one I will always be on. Nothing can be done about that. But hey, he took away the expensive one! Bells and Whistles! The one he took away was close to $500.00 a month! Think of all the things you can buy with an extra $500.00!!!
Shopping!!! HA! Well, maybe not that. Maybe pay some bills. That is rather dull but practical. I am sure the people to whom we owe money would appreciate it, though 🙂
So, that is my NSV. Only ONE medication. I can hardly stand it I am so excited!!!
…and who says nothing good happens on Mondays?
