Today’s Run:  3.20 miles ~ speed work ~

Yesterday I was going to write about my dog, Paxton, and I did, but not on this topic.  I was going to write about this topic but I could not remember what I was going to write about, so I punted.  Anyway…

My dog, Paxon goes by many titles:  Paxton, Bozo (which is actually on his name tag~Paxton/Bozo),Hey you!, Dumb dog, and last but not least, “Paxton, the Destroyer”.  This is a name that encompasses all of his names.  His given name is Paxton and he destroys everything in his path.

We have bought many “durable” doggie toys and they average 4-10 minutes before they are totally destroyed.  Actual bones last a couple of weeks and keep his teeth nice and clean, but actual toys meet their demise with this dog.

Which brings me to this weekend.  I tried a new doggie toy. It looked promising.  It is called a Megalast Canvas Kettle Ball and is manufactured by JWPet.com.  When I came out of PetSmart with this Megalast, my husband took one look at it and said, “Four minutes!”.  I will have you know that toy lasted 45 minutes!!!  That is amazing and most definitely a record!  I sent an email to the company and told them that it lasted that long but I think they failed to recognize the significance of how long their toy lasted.

The only other thing that has any lasting durability~that the dog really loves ~is an empty Foldgers can.  He can get quite a bit of mileage out of that can.  The best part of waking up…
