It’s a Jungle Out There!

Today’s Run:  4.20 miles

Today’s run took us on Evans road up to the “T” intersection (Limerock Rd).  This is a beautiful stretch of road that has a few hills, a set of rail road tracks, some pretty houses and pastures.  It also has trees and lots of undergrowth.

I have noticed since I have moved to Mississippi that this is a different place.  It is alive!  Living in the arid country of Colorado, things just did not seem to enthused about growing (maybe that is why the people there are so thin?  Nothing grows in Colorado, including waist lines!).  Here, everything grows, multiplies and quadruples!  It is a nice change ~ the green scenery, trees, grass…

The grass…Yes, it does grow and grow.  I started mowing in February this year.  I am now mowing twice a week.  It is a good thing that I like to mow.  It is a very relaxing pastime.  It is a good time to think, to be lost in your thoughts and to see just how straight you can get the mower lines in the yard.  You can watch the bees in the apiary and try to tell which direction they are flying and try to figure out from which plants they are collecting.  Yes, mowing is a great activity.

It is a jungle out there but a manageable jungle if you keep up with it.  Here is a pic on our run today of what it looks like if you are not “johnny on the spot” in keeping up with yard work. This is a farmer neighbors field perimeter (not a reflection on the farmer).

It's a jungle!
