The Cookie Exchange

Today’s Run:  4.30 miles

This is my “easy” week of training so the mileage will be a bit lower than what you have become accustomed to seeing.  My feet and legs are welcoming this “easy” week!        🙂

Today I went to a Luncheon/Cookie Exchange.  Oh boy.  That was a dangerous place for me to be.

First off, because I had a small run today of four miles, that meant that I was starved.  My long runs leave me without an appetite but these shorter runs make me very, very hungry.

We had lunch at noon.  That is a full hour later than I am used to eating so I was already thinking I was going to pass out from hunger.  Well, that may be a slight exaggeration, but I was most definitely hungry and my tummy was telling everybody in the room all about it, too.

We had spinach and veggie lasagna.  No sauce.  Just pasta and spinach and veggies. I do not want you to think I am a fussy eater.  I did like the lasagna!  It was tasty.  It just was not very filling is all.  They also had lettuce salad which I cannot eat (I have difficulty digesting lettuce).  So, I had a slice of lasagna and an itty bitty bit of lettuce.

There were cookies everywhere!!!  They were for later, though.

Dessert was a cupcake.  It was not a mini cupcake nor was it a full size cupcake.  It was, for lack of a better term, a teenage cupcake.  Somewhere in the middle of mini and full size.  It was great!  It was dutch chocolate with cream cheese(?) frosting.  It had two (real) mint leaves and three small sugared cranberries on top for decoration.  Can you say “Yum?”  I could have eaten a half dozen, at least!

After the lunch, we had a mini Christmas program. After the program, people just took a few zip lock bag of cookies and left!  We did not even get to eat the cookies!  My husband had requested sugar cookies (not a fan), so I grabbed him a bag of sugar cookies, socialized a little bit and came home.  Hungry.

We had an early dinner tonight.  I am not hungry any more   🙂
