Holiday’s

Today’s Run: 5.05 miles

The holidays are almost here.  Can you believe this!?!  57 shopping days until Christmas!  Have your started your Christmas shopping yet? Me, neither.

We have been so focused on completing our marathon that the Holiday season has just snuck up on us.  I think my marathon and accompanying vacation will be my Christmas present.  Either that or a new air conditioner/heater since ours bit the dust right before our trip.  Merry Christmas, right?

I love the Holiday’s!  I am a kid at heart.  I love the giving and the receiving.  It is an exciting time!!!  We have an extensive list of people for whom we purchase gifts.  When it comes to seasonal cards, though, I am a Scrooge.

Seasonal cards are a rip-off.  Told you I was a Scrooge! They are so terribly expensive and then the postage! You might be one of those people who do a annual letter.  How many people read those or read the card or send you a card in reply???  Not enough for me to warrant the expense.  So, no cards.  Scrooge, Scrooge, Scrooge.  That is as far as my Scroogieness goes, though.

I love the Holiday’s!  Did I mention that!?!

Thanksgiving is a trail run for the cooking of Christmas dinner.  If you mess up the turkey or ham on Thanksgiving, all is forgiven.  BUT, you must have the Christmas dinner spot on.  Everyone will remember the year that Aunt Melinda burnt the Christmas turkey!  So, I love Thanksgiving, too!  Good food.  Great time with family and friends.  All trials for the BIG DAY!

I love the Holiday’s!

What is it you have on the tippy top of your wish list this year?  What is it that you plan to purchase/make for the significant others in your life?

Whatever your plans are for this Holiday season, may you remember the real reason we celebrate.  It is not a cute jolly old man in a red suit.  It is the birth of our Savior.  Without Him we do not have a reason to celebrate.

So, all of us really do have a reason to love the holidays.  May yours be extra special!
