Today’s Run:  Rest Day

Tomorrow is the last “long run” of my marathon training.  In four days I will (with my husband) be boarding a plane for Maine!  Hey, YA!

This marathon training has been a blast!  I have truly enjoyed every minute of it!  I have tried to share it with all of you as well.  I am sure you are counting down the days as well as I am~ hoping and praying that I will shut up about running.  At least for a little bit until the training for my Ultra begins.

So, today, we are going to talk about shopping.  Who does not loooove shopping!?!  I love it but do not get to do it often~unless you count going to WalMart to buy groceries as shopping.

Last night, I told my husband that I needed new shoes.  The ones I had been wearing hurt my feet.  Seeing as we are going to be doing a lot of walking on our racation (race+vacation=racation) I needed something that was not going to be making me “gimp” the entire 10 days we will be gone.  So, we went to Belk Department Store.

I love going to Belk.  They are kinda an upscale department store that has great savings if you know when to go.  I had received a circular that stated they had a sale on shoes this week.  Awesome!  We decided to go.

We walked in the door and were met by a party in progress!  DJ’s and everything! It was Ladies Night!!!  Cool Beans!  Everything the ladies purchased was an additional 30% off the already marked down items.  They also had a wine and cheese bar AND CUPCAKES!

The cupcakes were full sized cupcakes with a TON of frosting on top. Mmmmm!!!  And I did not have one.  I had already closed my food diary for the day and could not justify that many calories.  I DID however have a half a glass of wine. That is low in cals and I was able to justify those calories!   🙂  But, I digress…back to the shopping.

I found a cute pair of just above the ankle boots.  Kinda a softer version of a combat, lace up, leather boot.  Black.  They are cute, cute, cute and they make my feet happy.  I bought three pair of socks (exciting, I know) and a suitcase!  We needed another suitcase that would fit in the overhead compartments on airplanes.  We found incredible sales last night and saved over $70.00!!!  We were pleased!

So, four more days until we head north but I am wearing my new boots today!  Here is a pic of the nice man how poured me my free glass of wine last night.
