Today’s run: 3.5 miles
We had family over today for the holiday. My parents, my Sister and her husband and children all came over and we did the picnic thing. Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, potato salad and hickory smoked baked beans, cherry dessert and watermelon. Yummy!
The kids were excited to come over because “Uncle Chris is cool” and they wanted to meet my Son’s cat, Castro. Castro is not overly fond of a lot of new people and Kali, our other cat is under the weather and really did not want the added attention either. So, they hid.
The kids, being kids, put their energies into finding those two cats. Castro, being a young cat, came out for a few minutes to see the new people but quickly decided to hide. Kali is a little smarter (?) and hid as soon as the company arrived. She was not seen the rest of the visit.
It took the cats all of ten minutes after everyone left to come out of hiding. The litter box called for their immediate attention. Silly cats. Silly kids! Maybe next time when Kali is feeling better and Castro is used to being around more people they will be seen a little more.
It was a good holiday. Happy Memorial Day, everyone!
