Today’s Run:  4.22 miles

Today’s run was a toughie!  It was not that hot out or even that humid.  It was just difficult.  I think it was because we ran so hard yesterday.  We have tomorrow off from running to give us time to rest up for Saturday’s long run.. Saturday will be a “light” long run day of only 10 miles.

Well…We officially have 86 days until my very first marathon!  I am so excited and so scared and so excited and so terrified!  I can hardly wait and I hope it never gets here~all of that at the same time.  Is it possible to feel so many emotions all at the same time!?!

We, well I, am having the time of my life training for this race.  I think my husband is tolerating it fairly well.  He was apprehensive about signing on for this race because he has run two already and he knows how much of a challenge race day will be.  I say, “Bring it on!!!”

I wonder how many Gu’s I will go through on race day?  I know the port-a-potty’s are every 5 miles.  The water stops are every two miles.  I know that at mile 19 there is a “significant hill”.

That significant hill has me a little worried but they assure us that the breathtaking view will take our minds off the challenge of the hill.  Uh-huh.  I do not think that that will be the case so we are getting some hill work in to prepare us for mile 19.

Wow~86 days.  Kind of blows the mind.  That really is not very far off!  I think of all the long runs ahead of us.  I think of all the smaller runs ahead of us.  The piles of laundry of stinky, sweaty running clothes.

I wonder what I will wear on race day.  That is something important to take into consideration.  You want something light.  Something that will not even think about chaffing.  And of course, something pretty!  I am a woman after all…

I wonder if Bar Harbor, Maine has a Waffle House?  We always have a pre-race waffle.  Google is my friend. I will find out.

All these things running through my head.  I am starting to mentally prepare for this race.  I feel like a hamster on a wheel.  Round and round and round go my thoughts.
