Today’s run:  4.50 miles

A week ago, my husband and I were riding my new birthday present around the neighborhood.  It was a gift from my daughter~A Tandem Bike.

A year ago, she had been working in food service at Yellowstone National Park and had met a “cute little retired couple” who rode their Tandem all over the park as their source of transportation.  She told me that when my husband I retired, she was going to make sure that we had a Tandem, also, so we could be a “cute little old couple, too”.

So, this past February, (my birthday is in February) the FedEx man pulls up in the driveway and unloads this HUGE box.  My husband was helping him and I asked, “What is it?”.

“I dunno”, replied my husband.  “The box just says ‘bike’ on it”.  And I knew.  I KNEW!  It had to be.  And it was.  A Tandem Bike!!!

Now, we are not retired and as far as I am concerned are far from being “old”.  But I do not mind being a “Cute little couple”.

This takes us back to last week.  We were riding the Tandem past the neighbors house and their little boy saw us (he is about 6 years old) and he exclaimed:

“Look, Mama!  Look!!!  A two people bike!!!”

He was very impressed and pretty darn cute.
