“Bridge Over Troubled Waters…”

Today’s Run:  5.17 miles

We did the Schaeffer’s Chapel route this morning.  This is my most favorite run because of the bridge.

We cross over the Motley Slough on this awesome plank bridge.  The bridge dates from 1920.  My husband did a Wikipedia page about this and it is fascinating.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Register_of_Historic_Places_listings_in_Lowndes_County,_Mississippi

The bridge is rather rickity.  The planks, as you run over them, pop up.  It is like running on a see-saw.  Up and down.  Creak and Groan.  I love it!

The Schaeffer’s Chapel is a pretty little Chapel located close to our turn around point.  It is a lovely destination. This morning, there were people out working in the flower beds.  I think it was a church work day and they cheered us as we went by.  (We have been invited to visit this Chapel for services four times now by different people.  A nice group of folk.).
