Today’s Run: 45 min lifting at the “Y”
Some of us never grown up. I am referring to myself. I am a kid at heart and refuse to admit that I may be getting older.
When my children were little, the Veggie Tales were just coming out. Actually, they were a little young for my kids, be we enjoyed them just the same. The kids also enjoyed listening to Patch the Pirate and the Donut Man on cassette tape. We would drive along and sing our hearts out to those songs. It was fun! One particular Patch the Pirate thing that my husband and I still say is, “That was, I say, that was the crack of dawn.” (long story: Patch the Pirate Goes West)
The Donut Man took Scripture verses and put them to music. My children learned a great deal of Bible verses through listening to Donut Man tapes. But the biggest, most influential teacher to my children was the Veggie Tales. I think it was the animation. That was excellent. They took Bible stories and character lessons and put them into entertaining half hour video stories. To this day, they will discuss Veggie Tale stories and songs~long after they have forgotten Patch the Pirate and the Donut Man.
Today, I have had a Veggie Tales, Silly Songs with Larry song stuck in my head. They only way I know how to fix that is to share the song with you (*evil grin). Warning: this is a very silly song!
