I talked to the Head Vet guy for Mississippi today regarding my chicken that died this past week.  He was full of interesting information but they still have not determined what was the cause of death.

She had something called Capillaria worms in her intestines.  These are unusual worms and FDA approved wormers (for poultry use) do not eliminate these particular worms.  Very Interesting.

They also found a mass in her abdomen.  They have made tissue slides and are presently waiting for the pathologist to do his/her thing and then they can present the final result to us.  Again, Very, Very Interesting.

So, we play the waiting game a bit longer before we determine if or what anything needs to be done.  In the mean time, I put the video at the top for your viewing pleasure.  It is a silly song that includes (if you listen carefully) a dead chicken!  So, sing along everyone…Dead puppies aren’t much fun, they don’t come when you call….
