Paint Samples and the Sale!

Today’s Run:  5.22 miles

Last weekend you saw us working on re-doing the kitchen a little bit.  We put up some bead board and a chair rail.  It is starting to take shape.

My sister and I went shopping a couple of weeks ago in Tupelo, Mississippi (got some great deals, too!).  While we were there, we stopped in at Lowe’s and checked out the paints.  There are a lot of different colors of paint!  When talking to my husband, he decided that a nice, cheery yellow would brighten up our rather dull/drab kitchen, so that is the color scheme we were looking for.

My sister and I found a great yellowish/goldish color for the main part of the walls.  It is BRIGHT!  You could get a tan just looking at that sunshiny yellow! The problem lay in getting a lighter/contrasting color for the bead board, chair rail and trim of the room.  We did not agree on that shade of yellow.  Oh well…I took a few samples home with me for further reference and besides, that way I could show my husband what I had in mind.

Then, earlier this week, I found out that Lowe’s had their Valspar paint on sale through this weekend.  Cool Beans!  So, off we went today, after running group and after I bought my chicken feed (I get my chickens one week from today!).  We agreed on paint colors and I bought six (6) gallons of paint!  (No, my kitchen is not that big, but the solarium opens onto the kitchen and I can go ahead and paint that, too, if the spirit so moves).

So, here are the colors of the kitchen.  The dark color (Dahlia) is the main wall color and the lighter one (Daffodil) is the bead board, chair rail and trim.  It is going to be a bright, bright, sunshiny room!
