Back in 1998 the movie, “You’ve Got Mail” was released.  It starred Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.  It was cute and innocent and was a favorite at our house for a long time.  It was one of those movies you could watch with the kids and not have to worry about any scenes or language.

Well, yesterday, Paxton got mail!

That’s right, my dog got mail.  Not a doggie treat advertisement. Honest to goodness mail.  It was a padded envelope and it was stuffed with neckties!  How funny and awesome is that!?!

A friend of mine from my college days (1980-1984) is now a FB friend as well.  She loves following the adventures of Paxton on FB.  She watches to see if he gets his daily Nutty Bar and decided that Paxton needed a new necktie.

So, she mailed him five.  FIVE neckties through the mail to my dog.

Paxton was thrilled!!!  He’d never received mail before.  I let him sniff the package.  I showed him each of the ties and then let him pick out which one he would like to wear first.  *I couldn’t believe I was doing it at the time.  I mean, who let’s their dog select which necktie it wants to wear?  Who else even has a dog that even wears neckties!?  Think about it!*

He finally decided on the tie with the flowers.

Now, MFH (My Favorite Husband) was on a conference call so he was unavailable to do the windsor knot.  I DO know how to tie a windsor knot, I’m just not very good at it.  Paxton know this and prefers for MFH to tie his neckties. #fussydog #beggarscantbechoosy

I told Paxton that if he wanted to wear the tie, he’d have to settle for my knot.  End of discussion.  Paxton decided that he would “let” me tie his new tie.

After I tied the windsor knot, I slipped the tie around Paxton’s neck.  Oh my goodness!  What a happy puppy!!!  He ran around the house so excited!  Once he stopped running, he picked up the tie in his mouth and showed it to me.

“See?  I have a new necktie!” he was saying to me.

So, of course I was obligated to take his pic.  smh

I received some mail yesterday as well!  It was from a running friend that I finally got to meet IRL at MCM (Marine Corps Marathon) last October.  She said I motivated her and she wanted to thank me and to encourage me on the 50 Miler coming up.  How thoughtful!

Yesterday was a fun mail day at our house.

Today is a rest day.  I did clean house (believe it or not!) and Paxton decided that if I was taking a rest day, he would, too!
