Ed

Today’s Run:  1.08 miles and 45 min lifting at the “Y”

All of the chickens look the same.  I may have to get leg bands for them so I can give them name tags.  Cannot very well pin a name tag on a chicken, so a leg band would be the way to go.

There is one chicken that looks a little bit different from the others.  And it is not her smile or her eyes…she is a little darker red than the others.  So, I have decided that she is the one who is Ed.  Ed Strakrispie.  Great name for a hen, huh?

She is a very friendly bird and does not mind being held and petted.  Silly chicken.

All of the chicken are friendly.  When you walk up to the tractor, they come running to greet you and say “Hi!”.  (actually, I think they are hoping for some food)  When you open the tractor, they do not run away when you reach for them to hold them.  They are very personable birds.

The dog, Paxton is impressed and afraid of the chickens at the same time.  paxton meeting the chickens 001  After holding a chicken, he does not know whether to snub you for petting a different animal or sniff you to death to smell the different animal.  The chickens do not seem to mind the smell of him or the cats.  They are indifferent.

This is turning out to be a fun undertaking!  I hope you will indulge my talking about the chickens until I get it out of my system.  Tomorrow I will try to talk about something else.  Try.
