Just remember, I warned you that you would get tired of me talking about MFH’s and my radio station! Remember that.
Today, FINALLY, MFH let me begin construction on our Facebook page and linking it to our web page.
I am so excited!!!
For those of you who have missed the story…
Back in September, we discovered that the FCC was opening a window that had been closed for 12 years, for people to apply to own/operate a Low Power FM radio station. You had to be a non-profit to be allowed to participate in this window.
We thought and thought. What could we do???
We both are a tad discouraged about the literacy rate in the area in which we live. We decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to do something about it and Classic Book Radio Corporation was born. We are a real live, honest to God, non-profit agency.
The next step was to apply. Red tape all over the place! But we made it through and were accepted! Cool Beans!
Yesterday, in the mail, we received our permission to use the Call Sign for our radio station…WMFH-LP. The W and MFH (My Favorite Husband), and the LP is for Low Power.
We are now in the “Construction” phase of our station. The nuts and bolts of putting this together. But first things first~ Social Media and Web Page construction. Our web page I mentioned in a blog post last week. If you want, you can go take a look. The address is: http://www.wmfhlp.org/
Today, I have been working on the Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/wmfhlp If you really, really want to help, you could take a sec and give us a “Like” on Facebook. That would be awesome!!!
This week, we are going to finalize our Kickstarter page. This is important. This is where the rubber meets the road. This is the beg-a-thon page. Fundraising. Kickstarter is a page where you introduce people to your page and offer incentives for contributing. We are in the process of logo designs for T-shirts, jackets, car decals, etc. Those will be offered as incentives/prizes for helping us reach our fundraising goal.
The kicker with Kickstarter~if you do not reach your fundraising goal, you do not get one red cent. Yikes! We are very nervous about this. BUT~we have to have the money so we can purchase the transmitter and antenna. Without those items, we cannot go on the air. Please, keep your fingers crossed for us.
That is where things stand as of now on the radio front.
On the running front…
I might, MIGHT, get to get off my crutches and beginning running again on the 14th. That would be AWESOME!!! I have set a goal of 75 miles for the month of February. That would give me two weeks or so to get those miles run. I THINK I can do it, if I get off the crutches by the 14th.
All sorts of things going on! Never a dull moment in the Howard household. The baby chickens are growing by leaps and bounds. A am pretty sure that one of the babies is a rooster. I need a rooster name. An Easterish rooster name. Thinking caps on!
The dog is, well, a dog, as well as the cats. The bunny, Loki is really doing well! We are happy to see him enjoying the run of the back room. He nibbles on my woodwork~not popular. He is a cute and fuzzy termite! But he is enjoying having a lot more room to hop.
That is all the news for today. Enjoy the Super Bowl~Go Broncos!!!
