Today I took a short break during work and looked up the online USGS topographical map for our neighborhood. From it I can see that we have moved up in the world. This house is over 100 ft higher than our previous Mississippi house, approximately 350 ft of elevation.
My work has been going well. I go from one stuck spot to the next stuck spot, but the number of hurdles between me and the end of my project seems to be getting smaller.
Also today I sent an email to the ham radio club up north to see if anyone wants to help me take the tower down at the old place. My wife says I am not allowed to do tower climbing now. If no one wants it, we can just cut the guy wires and do a controlled fall. At that point we will be off the air with the radio station. I’m told we can modify our situation as being temporarily off the air, in case someone else decides to pick up the project.
I searched this blog and found out we erected the tower around this time of year in 2011, 15 years ago.
