I got a phone call from my mother on Friday. Someone from the Greenburgs Jewelry had called her looking for me. It seems that I was on their accounting system as being $46 in the green. That was a surprise.
So she gave me the number and I called and talked to Brenna or Breanna (I can’t read what I wrote down). She said that there was some transaction in the spring of 1995 and they owed us $46.24 which we could have as “store credit”.
There aren’t any of those stores around here. So I asked if they have a web store. They don’t but they do have some of their products on-line.
So I told my wife about this. She was all over it, like a school of piranha fish on a drowning goat. They got together and, I can say the damage was not as bad as it could have been. I just hope she is happy with what arrives since she has only seen it in pictures on the lady’s hand.
Later, I gave a bit of thought to it. Mom said the lady had her number, knew our old address, knew my sister’s name. I seriously think she took it as a personal challenge to find me and get me to buy something and clear this $46.24 off of their accounts.
Well, it worked.
It was a bit of a whiplash though. For a few minutes I thought they were going to send me a check for some long lost money. But I end up sending them a much bigger pile instead.
And I learned something about “pent up demand”.
