Ain’t gonna rain no more

My weather station is refusing to record rain these days.

It looks like it gave up in February or March sometime and just hasn’t recorded any rain since then. We’ve got all of the rest of the readings.

I’m not sure what happened. I am suspicious that maybe some ants or ladybugs crawled under the sensor and blocked it from getting any readings.

The type of unit I have is a Vaisala WXT520 which is kind of a high-end unit. But it is old. The rain sensor somehow measures the amount of rain hitting a large metal cap. That’s why I’m wondering if mine has something wedged under there.

I have another one. I’m thinking about swapping out the old one and see if that changes anything.
