Cell phone service is not very good at my house.
Recently I rebooted my phone because it said it had no service. When it came up it told me I had multiple voice mails. So I listened to all of the new messages and I don’t remember what they were, just junk.
Also I had some saved messages. The first one was from at least two years ago. My dad called on my birthday and asked me “Is Hap there? Happy Birthday!” That was a fun tradition. He doesn’t do that any more.
A followup to my last post. I completely powered down the weather station and then restarted it. We had a little rain yesterday afternoon and the sensor showed it! My usual power switch only shuts down the little beaglebone computer. The sensors were powered by a battery and solar panel and had not been restarted probably since I built the thing. Anyway, seems to be working now!

I am thinking your phone should use the WiFi when at home so maybe look into that. When I visit friends who live in a residential area where no cell towers are allowed (because they are unsightly), I have to use their WiFi to allow annoying text interruptions to occur.
I’m glad you had Dad’s voicemail. A few years ago when the kids would say they got their birthday call, I told them to enjoy each one because they would miss them someday.
Dad’s shock is scheduled for Tuesday morning. We’ll see if it makes a difference in his energy level rather quickly, I think.
