[today’s run: 3 miles with track practice]
I wore my new bargain basement track spikes today. It actually went well I think. I didn’t break anything. The shoes are so light and grip better, so my legs got a serious workout. And having stretched a lot for the last week I didn’t have any IT band problems, happy about that.
The rhythm I had with my cushioned shoes was completely gone with these things. They have no padding that I can see, and the spikes are all up in the front, so the back is just a narrow plastic platform and I come down with a thud. The idea is to stay up on one’s toes and I didn’t do very well at that.
Anyway, for a first experience I thought it went well. I hope to do better next week.

A window into what (some) women have been doing for decades. I can’t explain why.
